- Document Manager -

     The Document Manager is a PHP application that allows anybody to share and manage documents online, with a easy and configurable web interface. The documenet manager administrator can create user accounts and give them rights on the documents. This project is already used by some French ISP for their clients and it will be made available for AlternC, an automatic hosting software project.

     This software has been developped by Benjamin Sonntag, Chantal Bernard-Putz & Franck Denis for some web site they are hosting, and people who often ask for this kind of software. We was able to give them an easy to install, easy to use solution and GNU/GPL license... Those factors are the main advantages of the Document Manager

     Dmanager exists in 2 versions. Version V 2.0 is light version using flat files. Version 3.0 uses MySQL data base.

     The stable version V 3.0, we released on November 2006 use MySQL data base and integrates small search engine.

     The stable version 2.0, we released it on April 10th, 2005. The Document Manager is stable and used by some hosted clients for Metaconsult or Eitic. You can download it freely and use the installer for a more easy installation. Click on Downloads to download the installer, the software and the sources. You can also look at the CHANGES file.

If you want to install the document manager V 2.0 on a web server, you must have a hosting service where you can use php4. No database is required, just DBA module. You can use the installer to install it quickly : just download the file dm_install.php, put it on your web page and go to the corresponding url. That's so easy !
